The production of needle felt carpeting takes advantage of the electrostatic attraction that exists between the fibers of certain synthetic materials. Needle felt carpets are thinner than woven ones. They are often found in high traffic areas such as office buildings and hotels on account of their durability. Needle felt is also used in carpet tiles.
